Thanks to its numerous projects in the past school year, the Montessori School Hausham received the “Environmental School in Europe / International Sustainability School” award. The jury – consisting of representatives from the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Education, the ALP and the LBV – found the activities to be very good and awarded the school 3 stars. In its justification, the jury emphasised the very high level of participation and involvement, the intensity and continuity over the school year with which projects were implemented and particularly mentioned the exemplary participation and democratic structure of the class and student council as well as the establishment of a fixed framework for FreiDay/FreeDAy projects in terms of sustainable development. The pupils recently celebrated this award on a small scale.
An official award ceremony will take place this spring, according to the Bavarian State Coordination “Environmental School in Europe / International Sustainability School”.
